Heavy Metals in Cacao - What's safe & What's not.

There has recently been allot of talk in the media and consumer circles regarding heavy metals in Cacao.

We understand the growing media attention on recent research about heavy metals in chocolate and cacao brands in the USA, and we recognize why you may have concerns about the safety of the cacao you consume. So in line with these concerns, this months blog focusses on heavy metals in this powerful superfood.

We take your concerns seriously and want to reassure you that Creation Cacao is thoroughly tested for heavy metals and is safe to consume. We are committed to both transparency and providing you with the best quality cacao possible.

Below, we’ve addressed some of the most common questions we’ve received about heavy metals in Ceremonial-Grade Cacao.

Have you tested your cacao for Heavy Metals and is it safe?

This is a very important question and we appreciate everyone who is asking, as it raises the standards world wide.

We are proud to confirm that Creation Cacao’s ceremonial cacao is regularly tested for heavy metals and is certified safe for human consumption, based on a recommended maximum daily dosage of 50gr.

While all concentrated cacao contains trace amounts of heavy metals, levels do vary based on the brand, farming style and origin. This comprehensive testing ensures any traces of cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg) and lead (Pb) in Creation Cacao, are within the acceptable daily human consumption standards.

What is the best serving size to stay within safe limits?

When choosing a serving size that’s right for you we recommend starting with an initial smaller serve. The smaller serving size recommendation is 20g, up to a large ceremonial dose of 50g for ceremonial use or experienced cacao drinkers.

We recommend customers avoid exceeding 50g per day and suggest cycling off periodically to allow the body to reset, following your individual needs.

What other foods contain heavy metals like cadmium, lead, or mercury and how does it compare to your cacao?
